Marlene Creates: A Walk in the Boreal Poetry Garden from Canadian Art on Vimeo.
In the summer of 2011, Newfoundland artist Marlene Creates enacted a series of live events in the Boreal Poetry Garden, a six-acre stand of forest near her home in Portugal Cove. This film by Johan Hallberg-Campbell captures scenes from one of these walks juxtaposed with audio of one of the poems Creates read along the way. For more information, read Robert Finley's review of Creates' Boreal Poetry Garden walks on canadianart.ca.
If you ever have the pleasure of watching this documentary about Marlene let me know. I watched it yesterday and she inspired me so much. The blending of photography, nature, poetry, installation, performance art, self-portraiture, map making and hiking!
